Such a Potterish Day
Jul. 11th, 2007 03:52 amArrived this morning from San Francisco at around 10am on a red-eye flight. Gah. They are particularly red-eye inducing when you have to change planes in Chicago, and then because of fog in Boston they hold your plane on the ground there, with the hydraulic pumps making the worst noises all the time you're on the ground.
I hadn't slept well on the first leg of the trip already, partly because my RPG Draco is having angst over his relationship with Fred, among other things, and had a really strange anxiety dream in which he has to sacrifice himself in a bizarre magical ritual and everyone he knows acts like it's no big deal. He's not sure if they don't know he's actually going to die, or if it's that they don't care... Not a peaceful dream to have.
Got into the office at noon, worked until 4pm, then knocked off to go to a special preview premiere of the Order of the Phoenix movie at the Harvard Square theater, which is walking distance from my house. Got into my robes and full Hogwartsian regalia and really didn't draw much in the way of looks. I think most people figured I was just in academic robes, which aren't that uncommon a sight around here. I live in the single square mile of the USA with the highest density of PhDs.
Saw the 5pm show with
clauclauclaudia and her sweetie, then we had dinner with a few more people including my sweetie,
katertoticus, and
gatewaygirl, and then headed off to see the movie AGAIN in a big midnight premiere showing at the Fenway Cinemas, which is now a "Regal" cinemas instead of AMC. Not much has changed other than the trivia slide loop pre-show has gotten shorter. It's the same 10-12 slides over and over. Yawn.
( Spoilers: What I thought of the movie )
