Wow...

So, I know I've always written a lot of dark fics. I don't do fluff, really, but there have been some sweet H/D in there (even if Draco is crazy sometimes...), a few comedic H/D like Draco the Wonder Ferret, even one sort of fluffy Snarry that I wrote for a fest, but I was just looking over my master list to update it with the new Darkfest revealed stories, and realized in 2008 pretty much everything I wrote was gritty, dark, and war-like. My first Lucius/Harry is here, my first Azkaban fic, my first Voldemort-won AU... more outright slavefic than I've usually done, too.

I suppose since I wrote an actual romance novel this year, that's where all that energy was going!

Here's my 2008 summary. (So far. The few fest fics to be revealed still... are pretty dark, too...)

Draco's Balance -- Draco/Rabastan, with some consensual Lucius/Draco. NC-17, 4500 words. Gift for melusinahp for her awesome modding of hp_darkfest The "sequel" to Balanced on the Sword's Edge, which should be read first. (It's actually a retelling of the story, from Draco's POV.) Post-HBP AU, Voldemort won. Draco learns what it means to be Rabastan Lestrange's fucktoy, but never forgets what it means to be a Malfoy. Warnings: non-con, forced feminization, forced everything, incest, et cetera.

THE PUPPET MASTER -- Snape/Draco, implied past Snape/Lucius. NC-17. 8000 words. After the war, Snape, Draco, and Lucius are all in Azkaban awaiting either acquittal or exoneration. Now that the Dark Lord is gone, there is much to be said between these three men... but Snape won't be the first to speak, will he? And what of Draco's desires? Warnings: Prison rape off camera. DESIDERATUM -- Snape/Draco. NC-17. 1800 words. Written for clauclauclaudia and first appeared in a mini-booklet I made for the Terminus convention, to hand out at the Snaco meetup. "I am not a fool, and only a fool thinks he is safe when the Dark Lord and his minions are running the world. A subtle charm alerted me to the presence of someone in the room. My wand is never far from my hand. I drew it out from under the pillow in a quick movement even as I discerned my would be assassin had climbed onto the bed. CHASING SHADOWS -- Lucius/Draco. NC-17. 3300 words. Written for the International Malfoycest Day Festival on IJ (Father's Day 2008, of course...). For the prompt "Lucius returning from Azkaban." "Lucius sits in the garden, the sun on his face, working the magic of nature on his hair. It is more grey than blond, now, ever since the Years In Stone, as he thinks of them. He is not a vain creature, except when he is. Vanity is a luxury he has not indulged in so long..." Warnings: Self-harm. Incestuous touching.

SLAUGHTER -- Draco/Rabastan. NC-17. 6000 words. After their flight from Hogwarts, Snape brings Draco to Voldemort for judgment. What does the Dark Lord's wrath bring on the young man's head? "When a few days later we Apparated to Malfoy Manor, my knees went weak with relief. I thought perhaps we would at least have a respite, that I would at last be able to hide in my room for an hour or two, or cry in my mother's skirts. For so long my only thought had been the tasks the Dark Lord had charged me with, Dumbledore and an attack on Hogwarts. Now they were both done with and I just wanted to crawl into my mother's lap and have her tell me she was proud of what I had done. It wasn't until I stood in the entryway and saw the Death Eaters going back and forth busily that I put it together. The Dark Lord was here, or he would be soon. And there would be no respite." THE HERMIT -- H/D. NC-17. 16,000 words. Written for the hd_worldcup fest. A few years after the war, Harry finds there is still someone to rescue. "Four years had passed since that apocalyptic night at Hogwarts. His family had been kept out of Azkaban, and the Manor had been cleansed of the evil presence that had inhabited it. He was a master in potions himself, now, twenty one years old, and might be considered handsome by some. Then why was he standing in the shade of an alleyway, lacking the nerve to step into a used book shop?" Warnings: Agoraphobic!draco. On InsaneJournal * Author's notes

BALANCED ON THE SWORD'S EDGE -- Lucius/Harry, with Rabastan/Draco, Voldemort/victims, etc. NC-17, 24,000 words. Written for the hp_darkfest. Summary: Harry Potter never escaped Malfoy Manor after being brought there by the snatchers (though Ron, Hermione, and the rest did, taking Draco with them). Without Harry there, the Battle of Hogwarts went quite differently, and now, after several months as Lucius Malfoy's personal pet, Harry's mind, body, and soul are quite different than they were as a schoolboy. He clings to his prophesied purpose, though, and knows he must stay alive to have a chance to fulfill it. Warnings: Consensual sex, nonconsensual sex, and dubious consent (yes, all three). WHOEVER KEEPS ME -- Snape/Draco, H/D, Snarry, Snarco, NC-17. (22,000 words). Written for the hp_tarot fest, round 3, and also fulfilling the prompt "disheveled" for my 7spells table. A Voldemort-won AU. Draco Malfoy has been Severus Snape's property ever since the Dark Lord decreed it. Snape gives him what freedoms he can, but it is a dangerous world, populated by Death Eaters and others vying for more power. And what of Harry Potter?
